How often should staff train on UKGDPR?
GDPR now UKGDPR has been in place for a few years now but the main risk to employers is complacency. Therefore, Regular training on data protection is imperative. At the outset of employment your staff should receive training on data protection as part of the onboarding process. This can be booked with Keeffe and Associates Ltd and can be delivered via zoom or teams of in a face to face session.
How often should staff take UKGDPR training?
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection authority, spells out that staff must be trained, and regularly. The ICO states:
The GDPR (now UKGDPR) requires you to ensure that anyone acting under your authority with access to personal data does not process that data unless you have instructed them to do so. It is therefore vital that your staff understand the importance of protecting personal data, are familiar with your security policy and put its procedures into practice. You should provide appropriate initial and refresher training.
What is GDPR refresher training?
Refresher training should be conducted annually to enhance the organisations privacy management system. This can be via 1 hour formative sessions or broken up into bite sized chunks to fit in with operational commitments.
